Keronite Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO) technology

Process

Keronite surface treatment technology is based in the principles of Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO) or Micro Arc Oxidation (MAO) whereby a modulated electrical current is passed through a bath of proprietary electrolyte solution, converting the surface of light alloys into a hard yet flexible ceramic coating. Aluminium or magnesium parts are suspended from a bus bar and submerged in the electrolyte inside a stainless steel electrode cage. During the PEO surface treatment process, a controlled plasma discharge is formed on the surface of the light alloy, fusing the oxides of the substrate into a harder phase.

Quality
Keronite International Ltd is committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality throughout all manufacturing and business procedures. In early 2006, Keronite achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification for the application of advanced surface treatments using the Keronite PEO process, as well as for the supply of processing plant, equipment and electrolyte solutions.
